Originally from Helena, AL, Dr. Lydia Wade took the scenic route to veterinary medicine—earning a biology degree (with a side of chemistry) from UAB, followed by a Master’s in Public Health with a focus on Industrial Hygiene. She then followed her true calling and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University in 2014.
Now settled in Leeds, AL, Dr. Wade is a full-time associate and the newest member of Deerfoot Animal Clinic in Trussville, where she provides compassionate, thoughtful care to her patients.
Dr. Wade is a Certified Peaceful Euthanasia Professional, having completed specialized training with the Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Academy (CAETA). She takes great pride in helping pets and their families experience comfort and dignity in all stages of life.
When she’s not at the clinic, you can find her either planning her next trip, doting on her three cats and two dogs, or happily catching up on her favorite hobby—napping. She also enjoys hanging out with friends, having dinners, and has newly joined a Bible study group.
