Meet Our Team

Marissa Lemons
Client Care Operations & Concierge- Veterinary Technician
With over 14 years in veterinary medicine, Marissa has done it all. Today, she serves as a lead technician at UrgentVet in Hoover, where she manages high-stakes medical situations with a steady hand, sharp clinical instincts, and a whole lot of heart.
Originally from Gadsden and proud of her Honduran roots (her family is from Gualgüire), Marissa has called Birmingham home since 2017. She studied biology and continues to channel that passion into meaningful, forward-thinking work, including helping launch Best Buds Laser and Blood, a mobile pet blood bank aimed at addressing critical shortages in Northeast Alabama.
At Compassionate Crossings, Marissa is works closely with Olivia and Ross to ensure every family is guided with compassion, clarity, and just the right amount of reassurance during one of life’s hardest moments. She’s the voice on the other end of the phone helping answer the all-important question: “Is it time?”
At home, Marissa is outnumbered (happily) by her French bulldog, Morty, and her mustachioed cat, Gomez—who, despite their differences, are best friends and professional cuddle experts.
Marissa joined Compassionate Crossings because she believes the end-of-life journey deserves just as much grace, support, and intentional care as every other stage of a pet’s life. Her goal is simple: to make sure every family she speaks with feels heard, informed, and never alone.
