Meet Our Team

Dan Linder, Client Care Concierge
Dan is a lifelong rock enthusiast who traded in the corporate quarry for something a little softer — our beloved four-legged friends (and their humans). Born in Washington, D.C., and raised in Adelphi, Maryland, Dan spent weekends exploring the city’s museums and monuments long before there were lines out the door. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Geology and Mathematics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and later completed his Master’s and fellowship in Economic Geology and Mineralogy.
From 1990 to 2011, Dan served as Chief Geologist for Vulcan Materials before working with several mining and geotechnical firms in Birmingham. After decades of rock-solid dedication, he finally decided to “retire” in 2016 — though we quickly found out he’s not great at sitting still.
These days, Dan lives in Shelby County with his wife (and one of our very own veterinarians), Dr. Cheryl Linder. While he may not have any formal veterinary training himself, being married to a veterinarian for more than 30 years has earned him plenty of “street cred” in the field — and probably a few honorary continuing education credits along the way. He’s an avid reader of historical fiction, a proud dad of three daughters, a delighted granddad, a member of his church choir, and a self-proclaimed “top-tier DoorDasher.” We’re thrilled to have him bringing his big heart to our team.
