Founder & CEO, Compassionate Crossings
Dr. Lindsay Floyd is the Founder and CEO of Compassionate Crossings, where she helps families say goodbye to their beloved pets with the same love and dignity they’ve shared throughout their lives. A proud native of Hoover, Alabama, Dr. Floyd graduated from Hoover High School in 1999 and earned her veterinary degree from Auburn University in 2007 (War Eagle!). She went on to complete a rigorous internship in Medicine and Surgery in Greensboro, NC, and then spent four years living her best coastal life while practicing in Charleston, SC.
In 2012, Dr. Floyd returned home to Hoover and settled in Bluff Park with her husband, Ross, and their beloved bulldog mix, Zappa—who runs the household with slobbery charm and zero apologies.
Dr. Floyd wears many hats (and probably a few fur-covered scrubs). In addition to leading Compassionate Crossings, she’s the Chairperson of the Alabama Veterinary Professional Wellness Program, serves on the Board of Directors for the Alabama Veterinary Medical Foundation, and is a proud member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC). She also works full-time as an associate veterinarian at Lincoln Veterinary Clinic, where she’s spent the past decade winning the trust of both pet parents and an impressive fan club of exotic mammals.
Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find Dr. Floyd in the garden, gently whispering words of encouragement to her houseplants—or jetting off on an international adventure to recharge her soul (and maybe pick up a new plant or two).
